BTRY is a start-up based in Dübendorf, Switzerland, and a spin-off of EMPA and ETH. From the lab to the market – at BTRY, we are developing the industry‘s first energy-dense solid-state battery made with advanced semiconductor manufacturing methods. Having worked together at EMPA and ETH Zurich for more than three years, we are already a well-coordinated team. During our research on solid-state batteries, we developed a new technology for thin-film batteries. After seeing the potential of this technology in the lab and receiving positive feedback by our industry partners, it soon became clear that now is the right time to bring this technology to market.
