Goals of the project idea

The idea is intended to serve as a road map for the any type of Building—to identify the most critical and practical steps needed to make on the building. Specifically plan the overall goals for the next 3 years. The goals are to:

Create a commonly accepted definition and expertness for a sustainable building;

Create a vision/message for a sustainable building that will motivate the stakeholders;

Increase confidence for a sustainable building services by increasing awareness and understanding, and by providing incentives of change; and

Increase the understanding for having a sustainable building by providing realistic information, tools, resources, incentives, and rewards to enable any barriers to undertake the vision and encourage the change for a sustainable building.

Evaluation

Energy is merely an intermediate good. Consuming energy is a means to an end, the end being the provision of energy-related needs such as producing goods, maintaining sufficient lighting, cooking, providing mobility. The ultimate challenge for sustainable energy consumption and production is, therefore, to satisfy the appropriate level of energy-related needs of every human being by using a variety of technologies and fuels tailored to local conditions rather than merely increasing energy supplies, while keeping the overall cost and environmental damage as low as possible.

When the Commercial building becomes  sustainable, it will be designed to use fewer resources such as energy and water, to operate; thereby lowering operating costs for the tenant and owner with a greater Marketing power in the economics.
