We are committed to our responsibility in preserving the environment by managing and controlling our activities in order to reduce the risk of pollution, energy use, water, waste, materials, nuisance to neighbours/communities, wildlife and ecosystems.
Our commitment to the implementation of a waste segregation programme has been successful demonstrating a 20% increase in 2011 when compared with the previous year.
The company has recently initiated the certification process with CEMARS under the ISO 14064-1 standard for Carbon Emissions Reduction Scheme.
Achieving this certification will ensure consistency of measurement and continue to reduce our carbon emissions.
Gaeltec continually seeks to minimise its impact on the environment through regular and thorough reviews of our environmental objectives and targets.

Meteorological Mast, Substation Earths, Substation Civil and Electrical works, 20kV Switchgear, Control & Protection Equipment, 90MVA Grid Step-Up Transformer, Transformer bay, 110kV Busbar, 2 no. 110kV Line Bays, 110 kV Overhead Line, Full commissioning.
BRUCKANA WINDFARM (43MW) – 14 Windturbines of 3.075MW
Client : BORD NA MONA
Scope : Design and studies, MV Cabling, Earth and Fibre. Meteorological Mast, Substation Earths, Substation Civil and Electrical works, 20kV Switchgear, Control & Protection Equipment, 50MVA Grid Step-Up Transformer, Transformer bay, 38kV OHL single bay, 38kV Overhead line and Underground cable, Lisheen Mines 110kV substation extension works, Full commissioning.
BETWS WINDFARM (34.5MW) – 15 Windturbines of 2.3MW

Scope : Design and studies, MV Cabling, Earth and Fibre. Meteorological Mast, Substation Earths, Substation Civil and Electrical, 33kV Switchgear, Control & Protection Equipment, 132/33kV Grid Transformer and Earthing Transformer Installation, 132kV Connection to WPD equipment, Full commissioning.
HIGH VOLTAGE
INCHICORE – MAYNOOTH 1&2 22O kV LINE (HTLS refurbishement)

Scope : This framework project consists in the uprate and refurbishment of 220 kV double circuit line, in this project we’re replacing all the hardware and insulators and replacing the existing ACSR conductor for the new HTLS / GAP conductor (Traonach 586 sqmm).
CATHALEEN’S FALL – GOLAGH TEE 110 kV LINE (HTLS refurbishement)
Client : ESB
Scope : This work consists in the uprate and refurbishment of 110 kV line, in this project we’re replacing all the hardware and insulators, also includes the substitution of some of the existing poleset’s and crossarms and replacing the existing ACSR conductor for the new HTLS / GAP conductor (Spideog 220sqmm).
GLASMORE – STEPHENSTOWN 110 kV DC LINE
Client : ESB
Scope : This a new build Project, where we’re responsible for the construction of the entire project, from the tower foundations, to the assembly and erection of the steel towers and stringing of conductors. In this line we’re going to install an OPPC conductor which is a phase conductor with fibre optics
