    Geothermal Energy, also known as terrestrial heat, is a local and sustainable source of energy in which no (or at least hardly) CO2 emissions occur. Two wells are drilled into the earth. Through one well the warm water comes up. The heat in the water is being transferred into the grid via a heat exchanger in the geothermal heating plant. The cooled water is reinjected to the same reservoir using the second well. This ensures that the water level in the earth is maintained and stable. The geothermal network consists of a grid of piping in the ground. The geothermal heat is being transported to the place where the heat is needed.
