Sif
Sif is a pioneer in the field of offshore foundations. With 75 years of experience, technical ingenuity and the daily commitment of our craftsmen and women, Sif has acquired a leading position in the supply chain for offshore wind farms. Our main product, the monopile, is the most common and most economical solution for installing offshore wind turbines. By delivering quality on time, safely and within the agreed budget for years, we are co-determining the speed with which the energy transition can take place. We have proven this: Currently, there are 2,400 Sif foundations anchored in the seabed. We are proud of that, because they are crucial for achieving our objectives in the energy transition. Global politics faces a huge challenge: the energy transition. Sif lays the foundation needed for this – literally and figuratively. Sif dares to lead the way and not only to propagate its mission and vision, but also to follow through with actions. 20.2 million households already receive power from offshore wind turbines that stand on our foundation. Sif's monopiles enable these turbines to supply power under all circumstances; And that while the wind can blow at a speed of 70 km/h and the waves can reach a height of 6 meters. The energy transition builds on Sif.

About Us
Founded in 1948, Sif, is a company with a solid track record. From a purely manufacturing company of large, thick tubular steel structures, the company has transitioned towards a total solution provider of offshore wind monopile foundations. Today Sif employs over 600 people (approximately 50% of whom are on the payroll) at two manufacturing sites in the Netherlands: Roermond and Maasvlakte 2, near Rotterdam. Sif is listed on Euronext Amsterdam since May 2016.
For 75 years we have been innovating and building the foundations of a sustainable future for future generations. Sif continues to develop products and services in order to continue to meet market demand. Wind farm developers can come to us for foundation design, fabrication, corrosion protection and logistics services such as storage and transshipment. With the recently announced expansion on Maasvlakte 2 and the associated advanced production processes and resources, we can make monopiles with a diameter of up to 11 metres. This means that the current annual production capacity of approximately 220 kilotonnes (approximately 1900 MW offshore wind energy capacity) in Europe will be increased to 500 kilotonnes (approximately 3000 MW offshore wind capacity) by 2025.
Sif is also taking important steps with regard to its own emissions. Since 2019, we have been generating our own green electricity with GE's Haliade-X wind turbine, which is located on our property, and we heat our welds with induction. Our production process is continuously optimized in terms of safety, efficiency, quality and impact on the environment.
In cooperation with customers, we are open and honest because we want to think along about solutions that ensure a more effective product and/or a more efficient process. We try to inform our customers at an early stage about the consequences of their (technical) choices regarding the resulting costs of the production or installation process.
Our employees are driven and focused on quality. Through teamwork, decisiveness and imagination, we ensure that we make an impact together. Sif offers a stimulating working environment with room for growth. Sif is continuously looking for highly qualified employees, suppliers and other business partners who share our vision: making an impact on the energy transition.
Our mission
We want to be the best monopile solution provider through innovation, engineering and excellent manufacturing with commitment to the environment and our employees’ well-being, all as confirmed by our customers.
Our vision
Accelerate the growth of offshore wind power generation as a key driver of the world’s energy transition.
While Sif traditionally serves the North-Western European markets, we consider the offshore wind market as an increasingly global. Sif is gradually developing its global presence.
Our core values
Ownership
This means commitment
and responsibility. It begins with clarity about who does what and an open-minded attitude. We address each other in a solution-focused way about each person's part in the bigger picture.
Focus on results
That’s our way forward. Together we will brainstorm about the best approach to become even better today than yesterday. Sustainably and measurably.
Teamwork
Both internally and externally, Sif's team spirit is strong. We form an essential part of the larger chain that produces wind energy. Our desire to help each other based on a common, higher goal makes us rock solid.
Quality
As the product designs are more critical, the acceptance levels are driven to the most stringent product requirements, therefore Sif has extensive quality processes in place for every step of the production process.
These quality processes start with contract and design review and document and data control throughout the complete fabrication line-up to and including delivery and supplier control.
These well-established processes ensure that Sif’s products are in the optimum condition before the final inspection is conducted with the client.
Sif has a longstanding reputation for delivering products with a high quality standard. We want to ensure that products comply with applicable governing standards, which describe the quality levels the products need to meet.
Everything has become bigger, stricter and more complex. The need for heavier and larger foundations has challenged our quality, engineering and welding department with new complex processes, whilst working on bespoke.
In order to successfully deliver the products, we need to adhere to very strict acceptance criteria and extreme narrow tolerances.
To ensure that these requirements will be achieved within the project boundaries requires a lot of discipline, insight and experience. This experience is still evolving even after already having produced more than 2,000 wind turbine generator (WTG) foundations. At Sif we constantly strive to optimize the processes and produce the next project even more efficiently to make sure that the challenges of future projects can be achieved.
