Order from a new client in a new market segment
We have now received a new order from Germany. This is not a gigantic order but it is exiting in that it is coming from a client on a completely new market segment, which can become significant in the long term. The project is a demonstration plant for reduction of Mercury emissions by injection of various agents into the flue gases from coal fired boilers. Mercury (Hg) has come into focus as the ...

Landfill and Biogas gas monitoring
Landfill and biogas provide a source of readily available and renewable energy. However, as a source of energy care has to be taken to understand and quantify impurities in the raw gas that can have an effect on either the amount of energy products, or contaminants that can foul the energy generators (siloxanes). ETG can provide analysis solutions to qualify and quantify these impurities. Gas ...

Is gaming becoming more environmentally conscious?
Environmentalism is becoming an ever hotter topic by the day, with the focus on curbing our carbon emissions a key priority for governments all across the world. Often, large-scale initiatives like the medium combustion plant directive target industry and big business, but there are plenty of things that everyday citizens can do to curb their emissions, too. Gaming represents an area where ...

The end of the road for Didcot A?
Last week the team at Aether were joined by some colleagues from the UK emissions inventory team at AEA for a tour of Didcot A power station, one of the UKs largest predominantly coal firing facilities at 2,000 MW (enough to provide electricity to 2 million homes!). In addition, a small amount of biomass is now also burnt at the plant. The tour provided a great chance to get away from the ...
