Amperax - Model A3000 - Wind Turbines - 3MW Direct Drive Technology
Many years of experience in technical operations management and in servicing various wind turbine manufacturers have flowed into the development of the A3000, which means that a particularly efficient and reliable machine with low maintenance costs could be developed. The Amperax A3000 is state of the art. Thanks to the directly driven permanent magnet generator, a high degree of efficiency can be achieved in the partial load range. The rotor blade was developed for the A3000, which means that a very good performance that is specially tailored to the system is achieved.

Further advantages at a glance:
- Low life cycle costs due to ease of maintenance and servicing
- High system availability
- Resource-saving construction concept
- High quality control through complete self-assembly
- Easier logistics, among other things, due to the possibility of transporting the generator in segments
- Modern production halls with high capacities and quality standards
The design of the generator significantly reduces the number of moving components. With the integrated multi-pole permanent magnet generator, it is possible to generate a technically simple but innovative design with improved efficiency. The generator already reaches its rated power at a rotor speed of 12 revolutions per minute, a very low value for this power class. As a result, the sound power level of the system can be kept particularly low.
full converter technologyThe constant improvement in the development of electrotechnical components offers the possibility of using a new generation of generators and converters for the new wind turbine. The power electronics could be completely relocated from the machine house to the base of the tower. With this system design, the machine house can once again fulfill its original task, namely the conversion of wind energy into electrical energy, and almost all control and regulation processes are carried out at the base of the tower. With the help of the full converter technology, the wind turbine can ensure compliance with all relevant network standards (including the Medium Voltage Directive 2008, SDL-WindV).
serviceabilityBy using the integrated drive concept and using modern technology, it has been possible to provide a competitive wind turbine with direct drive. The direct drive ensures that the maintenance costs of the wind turbine are significantly reduced compared to conventional geared systems.
Variability
The A3000 is offered for different hub heights and climatic conditions. On tubular steel towers or on higher hybrid towers with a concrete base. For standard temperatures or for cold environments. Certified according to the current guidelines for wind turbines from Germanischer Lloyd.
Design
Rotor
The A3000 will be fitted with fiberglass reinforced epoxy resin rotor blades with an integrated lightning protection system. Each rotor blade is connected to the hub via a double-row ball bearing and has an individual electrical control. The special emergency stop system has a separate controller for controlling the pitch process, which safely moves the rotor blades to a predetermined parking position even in the event of a power failure.
Yaw tracking
The wind turbine is equipped with an electric wind tracking system to align the machine house with the wind direction. During tracking, the friction of the slide bearing ensures that the external loads are dampened.
TowerThe nacelle can be mounted on tubular steel towers as well as on higher hybrid towers (concrete-steel tube). For a safe and easy ascent, the facility is equipped with an elevator that can transport up to three people.
Control unitThe wind turbine is monitored via a microprocessor-based industrial computer. This control unit contains all the protective devices. The unit can be adapted and configured to the respective wind farm conditions. For monitoring, fault analysis and remote control, the plant is equipped with a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system to enable location-independent monitoring.
