- Model Oxi.X DF - Thermal Incinerator for Critical Substances

From

0

In order to dispose of critical exhaust gases and liquid residues safely and completely in the face of increasingly stringent thresholds, systems based on a combination of different technologies are needed. The Oxi.X DF incinerator for exhaust gases and liquid residues is the ideal solution in these situations. This type of system can also dispose of explosive exhaust gases without problem. It is based on the thermal process.

Benefits

  • Adaptable to a wide range of pollutants
  • No restrictions on the type or quantity of pollutants
  • Disposal of explosive gases
  • Heat recovery using different types of waste heat systems

Functionality

Operating principle Oxi.X DF

Lances are used to bring the exhaust air into the Oxi.X DF system. It then moves toward the back of the system where the burner flame is located. There the polluted air is heated by the burner designed by Dürr. Above a certain temperature, which varies depending on the concentration of pollutants in the exhaust air, the pollutants are oxidized.

Another important parameter is the dwell time of the air mixture in the combustion chamber, which can be selected to meet individual requirements.

The clean air can be reused in different ways or undergo further purification processes. A downstream steam boiler, thermal oil boiler, or air-to-air heat exchanger can be used to recover the heat from the air.

Manufacturing processes often produce different types of pollutants in exhaust air. This is why thermal treatment processes are sometimes not an adequate solution on their own. In these cases additional Air Pollution Control Systems, such as scrubbers, quenchers, and/or hose filters, can be installed downstream of the Oxi.X DF system. An Cat.X CR system is another option to be installed downstream.

Application Areas

Oxi.X DF incinerators for exhaust gases and fluid residues are primarily used in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, recycling, and waste management industries. This type of system is ideal for applications where heavily polluted and corrosive gases need to be purified. These systems can also be found in the production of graphite anodes, carbon fiber, rubber and latex, ceramics, and semiconductors.

Technical Specifications

Oxi.X DF Air Pollution Control Systems allow the pollutants or contamination produced during manufacturing processes to be converted. Depending on the application, exhaust air volume flows from 100 to 160,000 Nm³/h can be treated.

All or some of the exhaust air typically contains the substances listed below:

  • Exhaust gases with concentrations of pollutants in the explosive range
  • Inert exhaust gases and gases with an oxygen content of 0 to 21% by volume (higher oxygen contents are also possible)
  • Exhaust gases containing halogens, nitrogen, and sulfur, including toxic and carcinogenic substances
  • Liquid residues and waste solvents, wastewater that is difficult to purify and contains salts and/or substances that bind salts, with organic and inorganic substances that have been dissolved or emulsified
