Standard performance
- The expansion of the power grids is placing ever higher requirements on them with respect to fast frequency control. In optimal weather conditions, more power can be generated than is consumed. To keep the grid frequency stable at 50 Hz, it is necessary to consume the excess power. Electrode boilers can convert excess power directly into heat, steam, etc. within a very short time. With short turn-on times and fast boiler control, the electrode boiler is ideally suited as a reserve boiler for fossil-fired heat and steam generators.

Steam generation
- With its extreme quickstart capability and high dynamics in load changing, the electrode boiler is the ideal complement of each steam boiler plant with a fluctuating acceptance profile.

Hot-water generation
- Local and district heating networks are outstanding for absorbing heat from excess power. When an additional heat storage unit is used, the generated heat can be fed to the consumer even more flexibly.
