Floor-to-Floor / Lining System
From Aerosystems- Cabin Interiors
In conjunction with the Group's Diehl Aerospace, Diehl Comfort Modules, and Diehl Service Modules units, Diehl Aircabin is the leading floor-to-floor specialist for system solutions, which are characterized by a range of synergy effects. Wherever individual components are in use, our developers never lose sight of the entire cabin system. A typical example of this networking approach to work are the window shades from Diehl Aircabin, which first need the integrated control unit from Diehl Aerospace before they become a single, highly functional system. Today, most cabin elements can only be shrewdly developed and produced when various electronic systems and functions are taken into consideration. The consistent transfer of knowledge between all development teams involved helps to avoid potential problems well in advance and enables us to considerably reduce development cycles.
Sidewalls
Using decorative foils and color schemes, Diehl Aircabin sidewalls are transformed into highly customized solutions. Working closely with the airlines, their corporate design is adapted and individually coordinated with the other cabin elements. Underneath the attractive surface finish, everything looks just as interesting. By using the latest materials in complex weight-optimized constructions and intelligently integrating a range of control elements, an individual cabin component is turned into a sophisticated system component.
Incorporating the many Diehl Aerospace lighting solutions in particular produces highly functional, customer-specific cabin interiors that leave nothing to be desired. Optional features such as electric window shades are just one example of the limitless customization options offered by the holistic solutions from Diehl Aircabin.
Hatracks
With its years of experience, Diehl Aircabin is today an internationally acclaimed specialist in manufacturing weight-optimized plug-and-play hatracks. The hatracks are available as fixed and moveable bins. A further development of the moveable bins to include power assistance is currently proving extremely popular thanks to their optimized ergonomics. The integrated power assistance makes opening and closing them considerably easier for passengers and flight attendants alike.
To simplify the installation of hatracks on the final assembly line, a variety of systems, such as the Passenger Service Units PSU), are already fully integrated by Diehl Aircabin in Laupheim. Different spacer variants are individually adjusted to each geometry and size using a highly flexible tool concept. The spacers are far more than just 'gap fillers' and can be used as valuable storage areas for items such as first aid kits and blankets.
Ceiling
As with all other cabin elements, the airlines have almost unlimited possibilities in marking their individual presence as a brand in the design of ceiling linings. The ceilings are lacquered using a complex process to ensure optimal lighting. Other highlights, such as 'high ceilings', 'no bin linings', or the 'Dome' with its spectacular indirect lighting, allow a special atmosphere to be created in the aircraft for the passengers too. A real highlight respected throughout the industry is the 'Starlight Ceiling'. Every conceivable star constellation can be integrated into the ceiling panels. Even the logo of the airline can be depicted in the form of a constellation on the cabin ceiling.
Door / Doorframe
The doors and doorframes are manufactured using both honeycomb and monolithic construction methods. This assembly is a particular challenge due to the complexity of the individual components and the fact that their structures move when the door is opened and closed. Electrical devices such as cameras, exit signs, and other displays are integrated in close cooperation with Diehl Aerospace from the development stage through to final production. All panels are lacquered using a complex process and individually adapted to a variety of design specifications using custom foils.
