Description
Spiral finned heat exchangers are most usually used as air heaters in which working fluid is usually hot water, steam or oil. They can also be used as economizer or process coolers.
There is wide range of industries that require this kind of heat exchangers: textile industry, oil and petroleum industry as well as energy industry.
Spiral finned tube heat exchangers are cross-flow type of heat exchangers made of steel tubes and cold roll steel strip that is wound around tube. Step between two fins can be 2,5, 5 or 10 mm. Heat exchangers are hot galvanized in order to improve heat transfer coefficient as well as corrosion resistance.
Heat exchanger sections (finned tubes) are welded to foundation plate and collectors. Pipe fittings with flanges and counter flanges are welded to collectors.
Heat exchangers are mounted in horizontal or vertical position taking into account the type of working fluid. In the case of steam exchangers it is necessary to set the condensate collector minimum of 300 mm below the condensate level.
In front of the exchanger it is necessary to set the control valve, and behind the exchanger it is necessary to set condensate separator.
