Silicon carbide module for fast-switching power converters; The PEB8024 Silicon carbide module contains two power semiconductors (SiC MOSFETs) as well as gate drive and measurement circuits. Imperix power modules allow engineers to rapidly implement downscaled power converter prototypes in order to validate control techniques. Thanks to their fast-switching capabilities, SiC power modules can be used in demanding research applications.

The PEB8024 SiC-based phase-leg modules are truly ready-to-use power electronic building blocks featuring:

  •  Current and voltage sensors (usable simultaneously)
  •  Integrated gate drivers
  •  Onboard logic and protection (desaturation, voltage, current, temperature, PSU)
  •  Speed regulated cooling fan (120 W TDP)

DESIGNED FOR R&D APPLICATIONS

As with other imperix power modules, each SiC power module embeds protection mechanisms, such as over-current/voltage detection, which block the power module in case of hazardous behavior and thus ensure that its capabilities are never exceeded.

Combined with the additional adjustable protections of our programmable controller, imperix power modules are the ultimate solution for safe and efficient converter prototyping in both teaching and research applications.

MECHANICAL INTEGRATION

SiC phase-leg modules can be easily assembled together

When used to build power inverters, three PEB8024 is all it takes to build a three-phase inverter or rectifier. For other topologies, the same modular approach allows building various sorts of topologies..
