Electrostatic precipitator (ESP) efficiency (inlet/outlet) testing on a 150-megawatt coal fired unit. Total suspended particulate tests (EPA Methods 1-5) were performed on varying ESP voltages. Once ESP was optimized particle size distribution (PSD) tests were performed to determine rapping sequence. Sulfur trioxide carry-over testing on a 390-megawatt coal fired unit equipped with a sulfur trioxide (SO3) injection system prior to the ESP. SO3 testing was performed at the outlet of the ESP to determine proper SO3 injection rate.
