The Heat Pump Installer course will demonstrate your ability to install and maintain a variety of Heat Pump Systems. The course is aimed at candidates with experience (5 years or more) in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, an NVQ Level 3 in plumbing, heating engineering or equivalent. It is also open to those in the process of gaining these qualifications.

Course Structure
The course is designed to provide practising installers the skills and knowledge required to determine the most appropriate heat pump for an installation and, through consultation with the client about their needs and demands, install any of the common ground source or air source heat pump types in a safe and efficient manner. The course is assessed via both practical and theory examinations.
Course Requirements
Candidates must have a recognised trade qualification – the minimum level being an NVQ 3 in Plumbing – or evidence of at least two years’ experience working in the plumbing or heating industry. The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales) and Part L Energy Efficiency courses are formal prerequisites for this training.
