It can be clearly seen how the TD trap passes live steam along with condensate as it cycles. The Delta trap is only passing condensate accompanied by a small cloud of flash steam on a continual basis.

Note also how the TD trap, even when in the 'closed' position, passes live steam and does not give a tight shut off.
